Talipariti elatum

Occurring naturally in Cuba and Jamaica, Blue Mahoe is known for the bluish swirls of color that occasionally occur in the wood.  Mahoe can vary greatly in color from tree to tree, and the blue in the wood can transform over time to shades of browns, purples, greys, and blue-greens.  Some think that it is the growing conditions that influence the color of the lumber, but no one truly knows what brings out the blues and greys in Blue Mahoe.
